Gonzalo's Journey is illuminating and hopeful. His family, like many in Bolivia, live in a rural community at a high altitude.... Their community is remote - the gravel road disappears from the map an hour before arrival. A stable phone signal requires Gonzalo’s parents to go even further up the mountain. Like his siblings, he was born at home. His cleft lip and palate was a shock for everyone. Luciano urgently needed to call the closest health post for help. What began as a distressing phone call started Gonzalo's hopeful cleft care journey. One of Comprehensive Cleft Care with a dedicated local team.
Community-Based Comprehensive Cleft Care with Transforming Faces

Over the past 15+ years, Transforming Faces has worked with our local partner, Sri Ramachandra (SRIHER) in Tamil Nadu, India, to build a unique community-based Comprehensive Cleft Care model. This model provides ongoing support to children with cleft, much closer to home, with the same trusted local care team. This is the story of how the community model came to be and the impact it has had on children and families, some of whom have been attending from infancy through to adulthood.

Services for children that assist, protect, prevent, and deal with abuse situations are becoming better equipped and more accessible to all kids.

From menstrual misconceptions to period empowerment

Menstruation misconceptions can lead to adolescent girls missing out on important daily activities, including attending school. But education on menstrual health offers an opportunity – for girls to not only live life freely while on their periods, but also to better understand their growth, development and the nutritional needs of their bodies.
Nutrition International supported a menstrual health management project in Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh, India in partnership with the state government. See the difference this program is making in the lives of students and their families.
Reviving Rainfed Agriculture | Bundelkhand

Bundelkhand – a hilly region in the central India, has often been covered in the news for extreme climate distress and impoverishment. This film showcases a holistic approach which was adopted as part of an initiative to find agriculture solutions for small farmers in rain-fed regions of Bundelkhand. It explains the role Revitalising Rain-fed Agriculture (RRA) network along with Development Alternatives, INTACH and PSI in working towards strengthening farmer based institutions to become a mediator for small holder and marginal farmers.

The environment provides a safe space where children learn basic math, science or language. Many participants have gone on to receive recognition for excelling in school.
